Obsessive Coffee Disorder

The daily routine that mostly done by people around the world nowadays is drinking coffee. There really can't be any adult in this great big world that has never tried coffee. Even teenagers nowadays already addicted to coffee. It's consumed everywhere, and judging by the amount of coffee shop in every country, besides, homemade coffee could be an option, instant coffee has been produced to make coffee-drinker easier to consume a coffee.

Coffee plays a large role in much of history because of the large effects that the coffee industry has had on cultures where it is produced or consumed. According to the article that I read in order to do the research for this post is that the earliest evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree appears in the middle of the 15th century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen. By the 16th century, it had reached the rest of the Middle East, Persia, Turkey and Northern Africa. Coffee then spread to the Balkans, Italy and to the rest of Europe, to Indonesia and then to America.

In the social life, there’s a history, drinking coffee can be a symbol of high-class because a long time ago coffee served at the royal events and for the aristocracy. In the late 20th century, particularly in the western world and urbanized centers on the globe, espresso has been an increasingly dominant form. People that participate in coffee culture are called as "cafe au laiters" and "espressonites”. Many social aspects of coffee can be seen in the modern day lifestyle. By absolute volume, the United States is the largest market for coffee, of course we all know Starbucks, then followed by Germany and Japan. Canada, Australia
and New Zealand are the other large coffee consuming countries.

Coffee culture frequently shows up in books, comics, television, and movies in a variety of ways. For example is in the American TV shows such as NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Services) *yeah I know, another references from this tv show, have I told you that this tv show is a part of my life?*
show that the people in NCIS distributing take-out cups of coffee to other characters while working. Remarkably characters with coffee, Special Agent Gibbs, constantly with espresso in his hand, especially in the morning and he always sipped the coffee to get more focus. This is shown that coffee is a great power over modern society and, especially, over the modern worker. Caffeinated coffee keeps people awake and could be a booster that helps keep people productive throughout the day.

There’s also the common sense that coffee can help people to stay awake and can’t feel sleepy. In the other hand, the coffee-drinker were not only the adults or the workers, but also the student, especially, college student. It can help the student to do their task, sometimes the college student need to stay awake all night, to do their assignment. Coffee is like an antidote to sleepiness.

In conclusion, sociological imagination of coffee culture is spreading around the world, with different advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on each person who enjoys coffee. Drinking coffee is become a lifestyle, and it just another good excuse to spend time and sharing together, a tasty, happy tradition, most likely culture around the world that is worth preserving for its various merits, and for its ability to help us connect to each other. So wake up, smell the coffee, and socialize.
